Comenius group from our school visited our Turkish friends in May this year. 

After a long flight we arrived to the airport in Ankara. There we were welcomed by teachers from the partner Turkish school. We were taken by hosting families. I stayed with Demet, I hosted her in Poland before. At the beginning I was surprised with some customs. 

For example they took off their shoes before entering the house. Next days were full of attractive sightseeing tours. We could see Turkish culture. I was impressed by dervish dance. I visited Miniturk in Istanbul, the place where I could see the most famous buildings and places in Turkey but made in smaller scale. I never forget beautiful Cappadocia. 

I was far away from my home but I did not feel lonely. I will always remember that visit.

I was very happy to visit Turkey and I could not wait to the day of our departure. 

In Turkey I met Burak’s family and friends. I hosted Burak when he visited Poland before. 

I visited two the biggest cities in Turkey – Ankara and Istanbul. I also got to know some of their tradition and customs. Burak showed me how to play very old Turkish game Mangala. 

I met a lot of new friends from Turkey and Spain. Burak took me to his grandmother who lived not far away from his block of flats.

 It was very nice in the country where Burak lives. I do not regret going there.

My memories from Turkey

I spent five days in June in Turkey. These were days of unforgettable experience. I visited a lot of magnificent Turkish monuments, tasted Turkish food and saw how people live in that country. I was hosted by a family of a girl named Szejma. She spoke English a little so we had to use gestures to understand each other. Her mother, father and brother could not speak English at all. Szejma’s mother was wearing a special shawl on her head covering hair, even at home. In Turkey I saw many great mosques, I was impressed with them. In one of them all women had to cover their heads, shoulders and legs with special shawls. I think my memories from Turkey will stay with me forever.

My journey to Turkey started at night on 28. 05.2013. I travelled together with teachers and students from Comenius club from my school.

When we arrived to Ankara, the capital of Turkey, we were welcomed by Turkish teachers. Then at about 3 o’clock in the afternoon we met Turkish children at school. When I saw my friend Deniz I was very happy. At the beginning I was a little scared because everything was so different. But then I got to used it quickly and I felt well. I visited a lot of interesting places in that beautiful country. One of them was Cappadocia, the place created by nature. All of sightseeing trips were interesting but the most was Istanbul. We visited the city and saw a lot of interesting places with the historical value.

I liked this Comenius exchange a lot and I will remember it for a long time. Deniz, my hosting friend, is a wonderful person. We still keep in touch.

MY first trip by plane was to Spain. It was in April. First we took the coach in the early morning but unfortunately we arrived late at the airport because of the traffic jam in Warsaw roads. I was scared at first because of the flight . But it was an amazing feeling. We flew about four hours. Then we arrived at Madrid's airport. Then we travelled by bus to C.R.A.AMBROZ .The trip was amazing. We saw fantastic views of mountains. I could not wait to meet SYLVIA .We finally got to the place where she was waiting for me with her mum. Sylvia welcomed me and we went together to her house. The next day, our tour was started by visiting a school.I was a little bit surprised because there were only two classes in the school. The Spanish children were very kind. I tried to have good contacts with them. Later, we went to the park where was a lot of green plants and we visited an old castle and we saw some monuments. On this day I went with Estel ,Sylvia and Maya to the waterfall. Despite I was very tired , I felt relaxed nearby the waterfall.Next, we also visited The National Park of Monfrague .The landscapes were amazing. The land there was declared as ZEPA zone that means it's under protection birds zone. Then we walked to the top of the mountain. We went to the Arabic castle.it was fantastic view from the castle. I admired the culture of Spanish people. The next day we went to Merrida. We visited the Romans Museum.I saw the sculptures of the Roman gods and tools which used by the Romans. After that we went to visit the Roman theatre with is one of the twelve treasures of Spain.Then we visited W way back we saw the tower Bujaco and CHURCH ŚW.MATEUSZAThe Bujaco Tower and Saint Mathiewchurch.

Spain is really a beautiful country. Everyday I spent nice time with Sylwia. We went for awalk with her around the town.I didn't feel lonely. Perhaps one day I will be back to Spain with my family and visit all my friends there. I want to think all my friends who helped me or welcomed me in Spain.

And I hope that as soon as possible we can see again.

My name is Martyna Truszczyoska. I go to school number 8 in Torun. 

In our school there is a program called 'Comenius'. It involves the exchange of children from other countries. Students from Poland Spain and Turkey took part in this program. We first met in our school for the first time. Half of the Polish children hosted the Spanish and the other half hosted the Turkish. In April was the exchange in Spain. I flew with Maya, Natalia, Casper and my teachers. I was very happy that I travelled by plane to Spain on the fourth of April. We had to get up at 4.00 in the morning as we had a flight at 10.30. In the plane I sat next to Natalia and had fun together. We flew four hours to Madrid. Then we landed at the airport and immediately we drove to Zarza de Granadilla, where my friend was waiting for me with her parents. My friend called Nayary. She had an older brother Edgar who was 12 years old. Her mum and dad were very nice and took care of me. I lived in Abadii near Casper, and Maya and Natalia lived in Casas del Monte. The next day we went to school at 9:00 am for breakfast. There I met Maja, Natalia and Casper. The food was toast with a variety of fruit such as strawberries, bananas and melons. I drank a fresh squeezed orange juice. It was very good. For dinner we received paella, which is their main and traditional dish for dinner. In the following days we visited Mérida, Plasencia, and Madrid, and met four villages’ presidents. On Saturday, we had time to go shopping. There Were also organized various games and activities. I am glad that I had a chance to go there. On April 28 we left Madrid airport to Poland. I felt sad but I missed my family. My parents were waiting for me and we all said goodbye.
